Influential and Respected: A History of Success

The Trade Marks Patents and Designs Federation was the first UK pan-industry intellectual property trade association established to represent member companies nationally and internationally. It was founded in 1920 in order to co-ordinate the views of industry and commerce in the United Kingdom, and to make representations to the appropriate authorities on policy and practice in intellectual property matters.

Its input into both IP policy and practical IPR strategies continue in the 21st century, striving to ensure that governments and regulatory authorities in Europe and nationally meet the needs of industry.
